چکیده
Management of the freshwater resources in a sustained manner requires information and understanding surface water hydrology streamflow is key importance this nexus. This study evaluates performance eight different precipitation products (APHRODITE, CHRS CCS, CDR, CHIRPS, CPC Global, GPCC, GPCP, PERSIANN) for prediction two sub-catchments (Chirah Dhoke Pathan) data-scarce Soan River Basin (SRB) Pakistan. A modified version hydrological model HBV (Hydrologiska Byråns Vattenbalansavdelning) known as HBV-light was used to generate streamflow. The separately calibrated validated with observed estimated data simulation optimized parameterization. values R2, NSE, KGE PBIAS obtained during calibration (validation) period Chirah sub-catchment were 0.64, 0.68 −5.6% (0.82, 0.81, 0.88 7.4%). On other hand, KGE, Pathan 0.85, 0.87, −3.4% 0.7, 0.73 6.9%). Different ranges assigned multiple efficiency evaluation metrics assessed. Generally, we found that improved (higher values) increasing temporal spatial scale. However, our results showed APHRODITE only product outperformed simulating at both scales sub-catchments. These suggest long-term availability continuous records fine resolutions, has high potential be semi-arid river basin. Other performed better CCS; however, their scope limited either one catchment or specific time will also help understand turn, would useful management resources.

Hydrological Assessment of Daily Satellite Precipitation Products over a Basin in Iran
In order to measure precipitation as the main variable for estimating the runoff and designing hydraulic structures, the satellite algorithm products that have the proper spatial and temporal coverage, can be used. In this study, at first, the daily streamflow simulation of Sarough-Cahy River from the Zarinehroud basin was conducted through the artificial neural network (ANN) and ground data of...
متن کاملUsing the IHACRES model to investigate the impacts of changing climate on streamflow in a semi-arid basin in north-central Iran
Understanding the variations of streamflow of rivers is an important prerequisite for designing hydraulic structures as well as managing surface water resources in basins. An overview of the impact of climate change on the streamflow in the Hablehroud River, the main river of a semi-arid basin in north-central Iran, is provided. Using the LARS-WG statistical downscaling model, the outputs of Ha...
متن کاملComparison and evaluation of satellite derived precipitation products for hydrological modeling of the Zambezi River Basin
In the framework of the African DAms ProjecT (ADAPT), an integrated water resource management study in the Zambezi Basin is currently under development. In view of the sparse gauging network for rainfall monitoring, the observations from spaceborne instrumentation currently produce the only available rainfall data for a large part of the basin. Three operational and acknowledged high resolution...
متن کاملComparison of Various Precipitation Downscaling Methods for the Simulation of Streamflow in a Rainshadow River Basin
Global simulations of precipitation from climate models lack sufficient resolution and contain large biases that make them unsuitable for regional studies, such as forcing hydrologic simulations. In this study, the effectiveness of several methods to downscale large-scale precipitation is examined. To facilitate comparisons with observations and to remove uncertainties in other fields, large-sc...
